FAQ

Assembly

Q: How easy is it to assemble the BosunCloud?
A: The BosunCloud assembles in just a few minutes and requires no tools or fasteners.  Lacing is pre-installed and never needs to be removed.  The frame connects with custom-engineered fittings designed for quick setup and takedown. It can be easily assembled by just one person.

Q: Do I need any hardware to install it?
A: No! The BosunCloud floats above your deck using its included suspension lines and deck lines that keeps it in front of your mast at a distance that you decide. No drilling, no modifications, no nuts or bolts, and no extra hardware required.

Stowing

Q: How much space does it take up when stored?
A: Minimal. The BosunCloud collapses down into a compact bag that fits easily in most cockpit lockers, under a berth, or in a lazarette.

Q: How long does it take to pack away?
A: Less than five minutes. The components fold and detach quickly, and the included storage bag keeps everything organized and protected when not in use.

Marine Environment

Q: Is the BosunCloud built for marine conditions?
A: Absolutely. Every material and component has been chosen to withstand the marine environment — from UV-resistant fabrics and marine-grade stainless hardware to saltwater-tough coatings. It’s designed to live on deck, not in storage.

Q: What about cleaning and maintenance?
A: The BosunCloud is low-maintenance. A quick freshwater rinse now and then will help keep it looking sharp.

Sailing and Use

Q: Can I leave it up when sailing?
A: Yes, if you secure it laterally so it can no longer can move side to side. If you are beating to windward, we recommend stowing it — especially in higher winds or rough seas.

Q: How much weight can it hold?
A: The BosunCloud is designed for comfort and strength — rated to support up to 800 pounds.

Compatibility and Fit

Q: Will it fit my boat?
A: The BosunCloud is designed to fit most monohull foredecks for boats 35+ feet. Its suspension system keeps it above hatches, lines, vents, life rafts, deck fittings, and even your dinghy.
